Friday

damn it, no more cat food.

That’s what keep saying but when I can’t find the browns, I throw a line their way anyways. I always feel cheap after I snag one and tug it to shore..all for the sake of stretching the line out. I didn't even hook this one in the mouth... I did see a good sized brown today, but after being so used to these blind, near dead fish, I approached it really clumsy, and it took off. I think he was sticking his middle finger/fin up as he swam away. Okay, time to head over to Michigan and Iowa. Enough cat food for this year…

Cat food they may be, but I am still very thankful to these fish.

  1. That's great that you went out there. It is getting cold here too in Korea, and I am hopping to see the creek too for the last time for this season too may be next weekend.

  3. I think when I catch my first steelhead, I will cry tears of joy. I will hug that fish and kiss it. I will snap a photo of it and look at it every morning when I wake up.

  4. Love the blog, but I noticed you've been calling the cohos you catch browns. Not trying to be rude, just wanted to let you know. I hope to run into you on the river sometime.

  5. Hey Damien, me too. we got to have some secret hand sign or something to identify each other.

Sorry I wasn't clear on the entry, what I meant that I am looking for browns, but when I can't find them, I'll settle for snagging these cohos. I hear from friends and people catching these trophy browns, but so far has never happened for me. hopefully someday.
