Entertainment. With some salt on it...

I had a pleasure to entertain Vanessa, Diana, Jay and John during their visit to NY with some boating and fishing. We could't have ask for better weather for both days.

Seeing smiles on their faces made the trip so much more enjoyable...
With a brief instruction how to fish with the baitcasting setup, they were on a roll with many species the bay had to offer.

Seeing them growing to be fine young ladies, I had a glimpse of what it is to be a parent. Vanessa and Diana, you guys ROCK!My men Jay and John ready to show their fishing skills.

John's first catch! The dog fish gave him a hell of fight.  A little bit of blood added more excitement.

Of course, Jay couldn't let this one go without feeling every square inches of the fish...

John caught the biggest fluke of the day. A proud trophy shot!

Yoonho, you must be a proud father as you and Hyunah did an amazing job with the boys. I had a blast with you guys!!!

Catskills exploration

Patty spent more time fishing in NJ than any other places.  However, she always enjoyed fishing in Catskills.  After our last trip to our favorite NJ creek, she wanted to fish in the Catskills, she also wanted to try a place she hasn't fished before.  I thought neversink gorge will be a perfect place to reintroduce her to what the Catskills has to offer to an angler.
Her footstep looks more like marching.
 Lone trillium on the trail.
We had the river to ourselves as we haven't seen anyone on the trail nor on the river.

Her first catch of the day.
She thoroughly enjoyed what the unique area had to offer.
I've always wanted to try out this small brook that feeds into the river which is known to be the habitat for brook trouts.  I've packed 6 feet 1wt rod for the occasion and I was glad that I did as the brook contained many eager trouts.

Since the brook is situated in the gorge, water ran fast on steep terrain.
Patty had no problem hiking through rough terrain and rewarded with many beautiful colored brookies.

I am very proud of Patty's ability to learn the sport and also feel very lucky to have a wife who can enjoy my passion along side of me.

Winter fishing compilation

Seems like I've been doing a lot more fishing than the most of you. (Don't be jealous, especially Eun Joo)  I've been pretty lazy posting during the winter season.  So here it goes...
This winter was a snowy one.  Hiking and fishing in snow covered mountain brings out the inner peace that is hard to describe.  Especially when you see all kinds of animal tracks on snow, you realize how many wild creatures are prowling the forest besides you.

This creek in the Catskills is a tiny creek I've found last year and contains abundance of wild trouts.  I was lucky enough to catch this brown as this was the only trout I've caught that day.  Wasn't so abundant on that day....
My favorite creek in NJ.  This creek never disappoints me as there were many hungry browns were lurking around.

Took my beloved bamboo rod out from the winter hibernation...

I think this day was the coldest day as I had to clean out ice chunks from my fishing line after each cast.

I know the life in Seoul can get pretty hectic, but all you guys need to unwind every once in awhile so go out there and fish and don't be lazy like me when it comes to posting your trip.

Tight lines brothers!!!

Catskill Creeks

Just came back from two day trip to the Catskills. Instead of hitting well known waters, we checked off three of lesser known creeks from the list. As hoped, we did very well but the scenery along with the vibrant colors of fish we've caught are something we enjoyed the most.
