Muskegon drifting with Cusey.

Drifted down the Muskegon River again today with Phil Cusey. I failed to hook into a steelhead but found few chunky rainbow trout. It was a beautiful winter day and drifting with Phil is always a pleasure. We talked a lot about fishing the Pere Marquette River in the coming weeks. We caught up on our regular rant about the economy, desire for fair weather, and lives as fishermen. Steelhead or not, drifting the Muskegon with Phil is fun. Steelhead will come soon enough.

    That's great to see you out there in the water. It must of been fun on that drift boat fishing and eating that delicious looking hotdog.

    It started in Oct and will go on till spring. It will also get brutally cold so trying to hit it before I have to freeze my butt off. Stipers are so crazy powerful. Please take a lot of photos!

    Lee, Phil and I were wishing you were here. I gave him an update on our Colorado trip. Anytime you are in the area, we agreed that we should go out together. Midwest misses you.

    it looks so fun. I'd like to try it, but there's a no place here.

    I have seen good water for float fishing here. Just no one has decided to do it yet. Someone needs to start.
